Make the Hotel My Accommodation (Seollem Deluxe) #10MinutesFromGangneungStation #7MinutesFromJungangMarket

I stayed for 11 nights on a solo backpacking trip. The host listed a room operated as a sensibility hotel, and I believe there is no better place in terms of cost-effectiveness. Although the exterior shows its age, the interior has been remodeled and is clean, matching the photos taken by the host. The room is equipped with a TV, mini-refrigerator, and microwave, and as it is a hotel room, **, **, ****, ****, ** are provided. Since the price is affordable, there is no cleaning or housekeeping service, so we appreciate your understanding on this point. Necessary ** and ** are prepared on a cart in the hallway, so you can use them as needed. The host responds kindly to chat and phone inquiries. Location-wise, it is in the main area of Gangneung city, making public transportation convenient. From Gangneung Station, you can arrive within 15 minutes on foot even with luggage, and from the express and intercity bus terminals, you can arrive within 20 minutes total (10 minutes by bus and 10 minutes on foot). Nearby beaches are also close. It is a 20-minute bus ride to Gyeongpodae, Gangmun Beach, and Anmok Beach. I walked the 5.3-kilometer distance from the hotel to Anmok Beach as exercise. There is Gangneung Central Market nearby, making it convenient to buy food. However, Gangwon-do cuisine is somewhat bland, and the famous restaurants on the internet did not suit my taste. I mainly used Burger King and McDonald's (excluding Domino's Pizza), which are a 5-minute walk away. The only successful food from Central Market was Joongangdonkkaseu, which tastes good and has no oil smell inside the restaurant. The famous jjamppong restaurants in Gangneung and locally recommended restaurants also did not suit my taste, so please do not have too high expectations. I recommend the raw fish cold noodles from Igane Myeonok in Gyodong. It tasted better than the cold noodle restaurant in Sokcho that I visited during my Seoraksan trip. I strongly recommend this place for solo backpackers, those who prefer clean accommodations over views, and those seeking cost-effective lodging.
