Kyoto Grandma 302 hidden in a quiet residential area

This place is even more stunning in person than in the photos :) As soon as we walked in and looked into the living room, everyone was wowed by the expansive gabled ceiling! The entire house was filled with natural light, and every window afforded views of green trees. It was a space where I could just lie down and gaze out the window without doing anything but feel good. I've been to many well-decorated accommodations, but this was the first time I've seen one with such a genuine planter! The small flowers, handfuls of mint, and baby carrots placed here and there were so cute, and the large potted plants gave the space a refreshing feel. The furnishings and accessories all gave the impression that the host had put a lot of thought and care into every nook and cranny of the place. Having a bath chair in the bathroom was a great addition, as we had someone with mobility issues. The ample parking was also a plus (even if you don't rent a car). The cafe and gift shop on the first floor of the building were also nice to browse through, and I appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail. (I'm afraid I'll be too detailed, so I'll just leave it at that...!) I was so captivated by the pretty pajamas hanging in the prop shop that I bought them and washed them at the hotel. I thought, "This is happiness!" 😇 Overall, I was satisfied, but one thing that bothered me was the lack of blackout curtains. While they weren't visible from the outside, I was disappointed that I couldn't completely block them out when I wanted to! While the price is reasonable, you do need to consider the extra transportation and time spent exploring the area (especially the beach area). However, Gangneung is so easy to catch a taxi, and you can get anywhere in about 20 minutes by car, so it wasn't a big deal for me. Oh, and I also wish the water pressure was a little stronger! I had no plans at all during peak season, so I was looking for a place to stay in a hurry, but I stumbled upon a great place and made so many memories to cherish. If my schedule had worked out, I would have stayed longer.😊 This is a place I hope to visit again.

The host was very friendly, and the house's warm interior made for a comfortable stay. Gyo-dong, Jungang Market, Wolhwa Street, Im-ap-dong, and Jungang-dong were all within a 10-minute drive, making it convenient for exploring. The beach was about 15 minutes away. The host ran a cafe and a pantry on the first floor, which was fun to explore. We were told we could hang laundry on the rooftop, which was perfect for drying swimsuits in the summer. We've decided to come back with the kids during winter break ♥️

My stay was comfortable and happy. ** I was also grateful for the flowers and rice cakes. Every single item, every prop and item, was imbued with the host's sincerity and affection. I plan to return again when I need peace of mind.
