Accommodation with a retro feel that retains the same old-fashioned feel

A great value for money, clean, and excellently located house in Donghae. When staying in Donghae for a week or more, the host's house is more advantageously located than areas right near Mukho Port. Mukho Port, Mukho Seafood Market, Eodal Intersection, Eodal Beach, Daejin Beach, and Dojjaebi Valley are all just 5-7 minutes by car. Donghae Uri Mart is 3-4 minutes by car away, has a large scale, is fully equipped with parking, and has a Daiso on the second floor for convenience. Cheongok-dong, which has many local restaurants in Donghae, is about 10-15 minutes by car. For those who exercise, there's a track at Mukho Elementary School, a 3-minute walk away, and Donghae Wellbeing Sports Town is 8 minutes by car with shower facilities available (2,500 won). All Donghae tourist attractions are accessible within 15 minutes, Samcheok Candlestick Rock is 20 minutes away, Jangho Port is 50 minutes, Taebaek is 1 hour, Daegeum Cave and Hwangeum Cave are 40 minutes, Jeongdongjin is 20 minutes, and Gangneung is about 45 minutes away. There are two large pools for children to enjoy in summer. Donghae Silver Town and Donghae Healing Hot Spring (fewer people, larger pool, and hot spring available together) are nearby, and Taebaek Hotel's pool is also great when visiting Taebaek. I've visited Mangsang, Daejin, Samcheok, and Eodal beaches, and Eodal has the best accessibility and convenience. With 3 rooms, it would be great for two families to stay, and there are 2 air conditioners that were cool enough even in 35-degree extreme heat. Especially, each room has a TV and OTT is available, which was very satisfying. There's plenty of washing machine and dishes, a large refrigerator for convenience, and while there's no large dining table, having a low dining table was nice. Parking has available spaces even late at night and has EV charging facilities for convenience. Both blankets and towels are clean and odor-free. There's an elevator in the 3 rooms (nearby apartments don't have one), and with ample parking, this is the best house in Donghae.

As it was my first week here, I was more worried about the unfamiliarity than excited. However, the clean and comfortable accommodations, along with the slightly remote ocean view, made me feel like I made the right choice. For the first four days, I stayed alone and enjoyed a leisurely stroll to Mukho Market, the fish market next to the harbor, and Mukho Lighthouse, listening to music on my headset. It was cold, but I also briefly visited Mureung Valley and enjoyed a solo drive along the coastal road to Mangsan Beach and Chuam Beach, taking videos while gazing at the ocean. For the final three days, my sister-in-law and my wife joined me to celebrate the New Year. They said the three rooms and living room were larger than expected, giving them a sense of privacy and homey comfort, unlike a hotel. There were plenty of good restaurants nearby, but I recommend Dongnamhoejip's flounder sashimi and the buckwheat pancake at the fish market. More importantly, I captured my first New Year's sunrise from the veranda and shared it with friends. I heard they had a hard time in the cold. I'm planning to add this place to my list of places to visit again when I'm considering a visit to the East Sea on a warmer day. It might be a bit of a hassle, but I'm also grateful to the host for his kindness and prompt responses, even to my smallest questions.

This was my first experience living here for a week. It felt like living in someone else's home, not a professional lodging facility, amidst a strange landscape. Contrary to my concerns, the house was in good condition. There are certainly limitations to living in a built-up apartment, but it's not unbearable. Parking is also ample. However, if you need to go to Donghae City, public transportation is difficult. As expected from a small provincial town, it's quiet, and the nearby ocean and Mukho Port are also great attractions.

My brother and sister-in-law and I had a wonderful Chuseok holiday. Neat bedding A well-stocked kitchen A bit far, but still, the ocean view Fresh air... We had a comfortable stay in a space where nothing was left out.
