About this place
Jeju's Old Downtown is an interesting area. While it is home to the significant cultural heritage of Gwandukjeong and an elementary school over 100 years old, it is also the newest district in Jeju. There is Goheung Restaurant, where the food feels more home-cooked than a meal at home, and just a one-minute walk away is Yinggai, which serves authentic Cantonese cuisine. There is also Sushi Tomodachi, where you can enjoy sushi with the best value, although the "open run" (rushing in to eat) can be a problem. There are so many famous cafes nearby that it is difficult to describe them all. Experience the atmosphere of Euljiro in the tranquil Old Downtown of Jeju.

Surroundings & additional info
5-minute walk to Old Jeju E-Mart 1-minute walk to a convenience store 3-minute walk to Y-Shop & Bakery (2nd floor of Stars Hotel) 5-minute walk to McDonald's & Starbucks This is the old downtown area of Jeju, a neighborhood that feels very much like the old days. Throughout the neighborhood, there are many unique spaces with a distinct Jeju vibe, such as independent bookstores, cafes, restaurants, and bars. Gwandukjeong: A place like Jeju's Gyeongbokgung Palace; it feels like a beautiful, grand garden. Yume: A rice bowl restaurant with a dual personality—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Chakan Jeju Mackerel: The price and taste are so good that you feel guilty towards the owner after eating there. Layers Bakery: A bakery that takes its time making baked goods but sells out quickly. Cafe Seongji: A cafe where you can enjoy fruit-flavored coffee while looking out at Gwandukjeong. Horse Meat Research Lab: Is this your first time eating horse meat? A long time ago, the area in front of Gwandukjeong was the center of Jeju, so all modes of transportation are available there. You can get anywhere—Hamdeok, Seongsan, Seogwipo, Aewol, and Hallim—with just one bus ride. You can also reach the airport in 15 minutes by bus. Since it is located within the old downtown area, it has a distinct old-school neighborhood vibe, but there are also many shops that add character, such as Arabic restaurants, Vietnamese noodle shops, and wine bars. Finally, since it is near Tapdong, if you walk just a short distance, you can encounter modern amenities like E-Mart, McDonald's, and Starbucks.
