It was a place with a view so amazing that we couldn't help but exclaim "Wow" as soon as we opened the door. The clean bedding, the basic amenities provided by the host, and the tips regarding the surroundings served as our guides throughout our stay. 😀😃 Although it felt like the host was a bit concerned about the apartment being an older building, our feeling was "No, no!!" With friendly neighbors, a diligent security guard, and a clean environment, the surroundings were warm and safe. 👍 ♤ Located within the same neighborhood, there are restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops such as '9 Nammae Sundubu,' 'Gangneung Dakgangjeong,' 'Coffee Jeongmiso,' and 'Ulleungdo Myeoneuri,' offering small pleasures and things to enjoy as if you were taking a stroll through the area. ( If you visit 'Gangneung Dakgangjeong' at 11:30 AM or after 3:00 PM, you can purchase it without waiting. At '9 Nammae Sundubu,' you can dine without waiting between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM or two hours before closing, and at other restaurants, you can save time by avoiding the opening waiting hours.) ☆ However, for cafes like 'Coffee Jeongmiso,' an 'open run' is also a good idea to secure a seat. It might be a matter of personal preference, but... I liked 'Toetmaru' better than Coffee Jeongmiso. The nearby cafe with donuts housed in a traditional tiled roof, the Chodang corn salt bread, and the Jjamppong Sundubu at 'Chodangok' and 'Giwajip' were delicious, but this place is where the owner's generous hospitality—allowing us to order more than one dish per person even though we were already full from snacks—and the menu items available at the self-service bar really made a difference. ♤ I visited 'Gossine Makguksu' at Gangmok Beach twice. The tables by the window were even better because you could eat while looking at the ocean view. The 'Yet Sora Sashimi Restaurant' located on that street is also great~ ♧ After purchasing local foods from the Gangneung Market, such as Gangneung Dakgangjeong or Potato Dakgangjeong, if you go up above the 'Gangmok Beach CU Convenience Store,' there are tables where you can eat while looking at the beach. Alternatively, you can get a mat from the 'Daiso' inside the Gangneung Market and enjoy it on the beach~ That is how we filled up several days in Gangneung. ☆ The Gangneung Dawn Market, recommended by our host, was also a great place to look around. For the food at the Gangneung Market, there is no waiting if you go within the first two hours of opening, when it is less crowded with tourists.
