In Samdo-dong, where Jeju's history and the lives of local residents breathe, enjoy the safe and tranquil atmosphere unique to Jeju. I have prepared 'Batum,' a space designed to help those who need a quiet pause in their lives fully care for their body and mind and find the strength to endure. 📍 Neighborhood Story: Samdo-dong, Where Jeju's Culture and History Breathe The atmosphere and weather vary by region in Jeju. Even when it rains in Seogwipo, the sun often shines in Jeju City. Among these areas, Samdo-dong is the birthplace of culture and administration, where Jeju's first government office, library, and theater were established. Therefore, with the bus terminal connecting Jeju Airport to the east, west, south, and north located just 5 to 10 minutes away, it is perfect for traveling anywhere. Unlike Shinjeju, which is lined with large hotels and franchises, Samdo-dong in Old Jeju holds the authentic life and atmosphere of the local residents. The elementary school, charming playgrounds, hospitals, small, old local eateries, and exotic residential alleys shaded by palm trees evoke the excitement of encountering a lemon garden while walking through a residential area in Rome. The first floor is completely separated from the unit and the front door, allowing for a private stay. This is a warm and inviting home that has watched my four children grow up and leave home. While preserving the original solid wood ceilings and wooden-framed glass windows, it incorporates a modern interpretation for digital nomads. For nomads like myself who work with just a laptop, I have handcrafted antique furniture to recreate the antique wood study desks seen in movies. Work in a sun-filled private study, and enjoy a restful sleep in the bedroom featuring a king-size bed and a mother-of-pearl chest.
