Host recommendation - Yeongshin Amusement Park is just a 10-minute walk from the accommodation. You can sit on a bench under the shade of a green tree, spread out a mat, and enjoy some snacks and drinks while watching the flowing Yeonggang River. You can also ride a duck boat. This is one of my personal favorite places. The owner personally washes and sterilizes bedding and towels at high temperatures using an LG drum washing machine and LG dryer exclusively for guests. The host personally prepares everything from cleaning to quarantine. Mungyeong is a region famous for its coal mines. When I was born, it was Jeomchon-eup, but as the population increased, it was promoted to Jeomchon-si. The names Jeomchon-si and Mungyeong-eup were used, but when integration was promoted, Deulmun Gyeonggyeong was used, which means 'hearing good news.' In the 1980s, when coal mining was booming, this was the only small luxury hotel building with a modern bathroom built into the guest rooms. There were only three rooms on the third floor, and each room had its own bathroom, making it an independent structure. It was built 40 years ago this year and was empty for over a year and a half. Over the past two years, the owner has been renovating the space, albeit with clumsy skills. I'm not a technician so the finish isn't perfect, but it took a long time to make it with love and care for the space. While remodeling myself, I was worried that I would have to save the 40-year-old sink, and the glass on the upper cabinet was so pretty that I decided to keep it as is. Since this is a space where travelers can stay quietly, we intentionally did not install a TV, and we ask that you be considerate of others when cooking and barbecue in the shared kitchen, which has a strong smell. There are many delicious restaurants around most of the accommodations, so it is a good place to come and eat. Since Jeomchon Station (train station) is a 3-minute walk away, you can make a day trip to Yonggung, Yeocheo, and Yeongju. Yeongju is the final stop, and the road there is beautiful. I sometimes just take my wallet and phone and go there when I feel like taking the train. I go to Yonggung and eat sundae gukbap and stir-fried squid at my regular restaurant, then go to a cafe and have a cup of tea, or go to Yeongju to take care of business, and things like that. There are frequent performances and events at Jeomchon Station. There were many events until early December last year, so if the dates are right, you can enjoy them and I'll let you know~
