Hallim Hanaro Mart and the Suhyup Center are within a 10-minute drive, while a CU convenience store is a 3-minute drive away, and a laundromat, recycling center, and the No. 102 Airport Express Bus stop are a 5-minute drive away. Hallim was the main setting for the drama 'Our Blues,' and there are filming locations throughout the area. Hyeopjae Beach, Geumneung Beach, Hallim Park: Geumneung Beach, where you can admire the most Jeju-style turquoise waters along with Gimnyeong Beach to the northeast and Hamdeok Beach to the north, is a 7-minute drive away. (Hyeopjae Beach is right next door.) If your timing is right, taking a boat to Biyangdo Island across the way is also a good option. Olle Trail Course 16: Handam-Gwakji Walking Path (Jeju Olle Trail Course 16) is a 15-minute drive away. Aewol Handam Park, where you can enjoy Jeju's sunset, is located midway through this course. Jeoji Artists' Village: A 10-minute drive away. Various galleries and art museums, including the Kim Chang-ryul Museum of Art, Kim Heung-soo Atelier, and the Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art. Andeok-myeon Provincial Gotjawal Ecological Park and Osulloc Tea Museum are also located nearby. Sunset at Sinchang Windmill Village and Chagwido: Sinchang Windmill Village and Chagwido are the places in Jeju where you can see the sunset up close. Even if you do not go to Chagwido, I highly recommend watching the sunset as it goes down behind Chagwido and Nuunseom (Nuun Island) from the coastal road. It is a 20-25 minute drive away. Heaven of Oreums: You can reach numerous oreums within 20 minutes by car, including Jeongmul Oreum, which offers a panoramic view of the northwestern oreums; Geum Oreum, a volcanic basin with a small lake at the summit known for its stunning sunsets; Saebyeol Oreum, covered in reeds; Nuun Oreum, a low mountain that is easy for anyone to climb; and Neujiri Oreum, which is gaining popularity for its refreshing views due to its proximity to the sea. Songaksan Mountain, Sanbangsan Mountain, Suwolbong Observatory, Sagye Port, and Moseulpo Port The breathtaking scenery of Sanbangsan Mountain, the cozy atmosphere of Sagye Port, the Songaksan Mountain Trail (Olle 20; course completion takes about 1 hour), the Suwolbong Observatory offering panoramic views on all four sides, and Moseulpo Port. You can explore the area in half a day by car, stopping and starting frequently. The Large Yellowtail Festival is held at Moseulpo Port in November and December, so be sure to try the large yellowtail. Restaurants Worth Visiting on a Trip to West Jeju Since restaurant recommendations are subject to personal taste and preferences, I will only introduce places the host has visited, focusing on Hallim-eup and West Jeju. * For all restaurants in Jeju, you must search online to check closing days, break times, and waiting times, and then confirm by phone. (Some places are closed even on non-holiday days) Sashimi Restaurants ‘Hanlim Sea Experience Village’ A place near Hanlim Port famous for its signature sashimi and stews rather than side dishes. Hairtail, mackerel, yellowtail snapper, red snapper. Everything is above average. ‘Sahyeongje Sashimi Restaurant’ A restaurant serving over 30 kinds of side dishes. ‘Red Sunset Tondae Island’ ‘Observatory Sashimi Restaurant’ Sashimi restaurants located at the entrance of the Hanlim Port breakwater walking path, offering great sunset views. Good value restaurants focusing on individual sashimi dishes. Items like conch are also fresh. ‘Moseulpo Port Wharf Restaurant’ The most well-known restaurant among those in Moseulpo Port. All the sashimi is fresh, and the sashimi rice bowl and sea urchin seaweed soup are also recommended. A second branch has also opened in Aewol. ‘Andeok-myeon Sashimi Restaurant Introduction’ A fusion sashimi restaurant frequented by parents of students at nearby international schools. A sashimi restaurant where the overall taste is as clean as the interior. Aewol Port Japanese-style pub ‘Dat’ **Aged sashimi including mantis shrimp sashimi, mackerel, and Spanish mackerel.** A place frequented by young people due to its youthful atmosphere. *Make the mantis shrimp heads butter-grilled!!! **Pork** *‘Gohyang Heukdaeji’ **Served on a hot plate with bean sprouts, bracken, chives, and kimchi, famous for the sunset view of Upo-ri.** ‘Hanlim Datgoegi’ **A local meat restaurant popular with people in the Hanlim area.** ‘Bbolsaljip’ **A chain restaurant specializing in pork cuts operating in Jeju.** A place frequented by young travelers; waiting in line after 6 PM is a must!!! ‘Ddongpari and Bongdaline’ **A local, budget-friendly restaurant located in Hanlim-eup.** Pork skin and pig tails are served as complimentary side dishes. ‘Poksik’ **A place where you can enjoy not only pork but also beef at a great value.** It has a yard, making it a good place to take children. Beef 500g 55,000 KRW Hallim Port ‘Domin Sikdang Main Branch’ A popular grilled pork restaurant frequented by travelers. They provide friendly explanations, and the meat tastes great, but the portions are a bit small. Recommended Restaurants for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner by the Host Breakfast **‘Hallim Kalguksu,’ the best hangover cure in the morning** **The main menu features sea snail kalguksu and sea snail porridge, with chicken kalguksu added on some days. Recommended before 9:30 AM. Waiting times start after that. Lunch **Andeok-myeon ‘Geumjamae Sikdang’** A restaurant famous for its neat and visually appealing side dishes and stone pot bibimbap topped with fresh ingredients. Gwakji Handmade Burger ‘Monster Salon’ A handmade burger joint whose signature items are charcoal-grilled Hanwoo beef burgers and black pork pulled pork burgers. Recommended for young travelers or those traveling with children. Daejeong-eup Fusion Japanese Restaurant ‘Jeju Goro’ Personally, I think it has a childish palate, but the reviews are excellent. Recommended for families with children and young travelers. **Hagari ‘The Aewol’ A famous restaurant for Kimchi Jjigae and Duruchigi (stir-fried pork). For the Kimchi Jjigae, you can choose between pork and saury; for the Duruchigi, you can choose between soy sauce and gochujang (red chili paste) sauce. If you arrive right at the 11 AM opening time, there is no waiting, but after that, waiting is the norm. Dinner **Masan-style Spicy Braised Monkfish ‘Deungdae Agujjim’ A famous Agujjim restaurant not only in Hallim but throughout Jeju. The main menu consists of Agujjim and Seafood Jjim. You can choose between mung bean sprouts and whole greens, but I recommend the mung bean sprouts!!! Haejangguk / Soup **Near Hamdeok Beach ‘Golmok’ A real hidden gem that you must try if you love Haejangguk!!! A restaurant that maintains the authenticity of Haejangguk flavor without operating as a chain. *Hanlim ‘Bada Sikdang’ Specializing in Codfish Soup and Pollack Soup. You can choose between Clear Jiri-tang and Spicy Soup. ‘Iseo Haejangguk’ near Hanlim Port A restaurant serving rich pork soup and blood sausage soup with plenty of chives and Cheongyang chili peppers. Recommended for those who enjoy spicy flavors. Hanlim ‘Byeolnan Dakgomtang’ A restaurant specializing in chicken soup and pork soup with clear and clean broth. Also famous for its raw fish salad (mulhoe) and beef mulhoe made with fish caught personally by the owner. *Ungpo-ri Galbitang ‘Huwon’ If you want to taste galbitang packed with meat and absolutely no gamey taste, this is the place!!! Nohyeong-dong ‘Daechun Haejangguk’ The Nohyeong-dong branch of Daechun Haejangguk. Offers takeout and delivery of tripe soup and haejangguk. Cafe Sanbangsan ‘one & only’ The cafe with the best view, featuring Sanbangsan Mountain behind and the sea in front. A wide variety of drinks, brunch, and full meals are available. Pets are allowed outside. ‘Oedo 339’ A place known for delicious handmade cakes and coffee. You can also take a walk along the coastal trail in front of Oedo Island and enjoy the spacious yard. Seogwipo ‘Bunker House’ Selected as a cafe with a great view recommended by Jeju residents. You can relax while fully enjoying the view of the Seogwipo sea. ‘Moseulpo Rice Mill’ In Jeju, where there are many cafes with great views, this is a comfortable cafe that offers a view without any special charm. The taste of the coffee is also a highlight. Located in a large townhouse complex in a 3,000-pyeong pine forest in Hallim Myeongwol-ri, it provides safety and comfort for family trips. As the center of travel in the west of Jeju, you can get to anywhere in the west within 30 minutes by car. The surrounding area is a quiet and pastoral landscape with habitats for pine trees and pheasants, and Hyeopjae Geumneung Beach is less than 5 kilometers away.
