Hot Spot Chodang-dong Rooftop Duplex Attic: A House You'd Want to Live In at Least Once (Chodang Byeolbyeol Darak)

I'm leaving this review because my week-long stay at Chodang Byeolbyeol Darak was comfortable and wonderful with no inconveniences whatsoever. The building felt modern, and the room was very clean. The bedding was comfortable and nice. The neighborhood view from the room table was great, and the terrace space in particular is truly excellent. On clear nights, you can see the stars beautifully! The location is about a 5-minute walk from 9 Sisters' House and Gangneung Dak Gangjeong. I was worried it might be dark since it's tucked away, but there's a large GS25 convenience store right nearby, and the Washipangpang laundromat on the first floor operates 24 hours, keeping it bright. Also, there's a CCTV screen in front of the first-floor elevator, which made me feel safe. You can walk to restaurants and cafes in Chodang-dong, and there's a Hanaro Mart not far away. Mega Coffee and Paris Baguette are also right nearby. Even though it was a 2-person contract, dishes, spoons, and other items were generously provided, and there were 2 pots, a frying pan, soju glasses, and wine glasses. (Other consumables need to be brought separately) Most importantly, this was a home where you could really feel the host's consideration for guests!! We only communicated via messages for non-face-to-face check-in and check-out, but the host was truly kind. Although I didn't get to use it due to my schedule, the host was considerate about check-in and check-out times. I was truly grateful! The week felt so short because it was so wonderful that I plan to visit again if I get a longer vacation next time.

I believe it is thanks to 'Chodang Byeolbyeol Darak' that I was able to spend a warm 7-night, 8-day stay in cold Gangneung from February 22nd to March 1st. I am starting my year-long stay in Korea in Gangneung to take a brief break from the U.S. Here is a brief review^^ You can park right in front of the accommodation. When you get off the elevator, a pretty sign welcomes you with a "Welcome," and when you open the door, a fragrant scent once again comforts a traveler exhausted from a long drive. The bedding and kitchenware are clean and tidy. However, you need to bring your own toilet paper, towels, and laundry detergent. Since it is a newly built building, there is absolutely no room for doubt regarding the heating. Even if you set it to "Out" the next day, go out all day, and return in the evening, it is still warm. It seems like all the delicious food is in -Chodang- There are many great restaurants within a short walk of 1 minute to 15 minutes from the accommodation. A week is too short. The hamburger steak at 'Jangmi Gyeongyangsik', right in front of the accommodation, is a taste I will remember for a lifetime. Although I only greeted the host over the phone, they are very kind. I am currently traveling in Jeju Island, but I plan to return to Gangneung once my two-month stay there is over. Of course, I will be staying at 'Chodang Byeolbyeol Darak'. I give it five stars, 95 points. I wish you great success, host.

I highly, highly, highly recommend this place. I believe there is no better spot for enjoying some quiet contemplation or creating lasting memories with friends. The host was so warm and kind, which made this place even more special to me. The various props were incredibly stylish, creating studio-worthy backdrops. It was perfect for preparing simple meals, allowing me to save on travel expenses. With a washing machine available and the boiler and hot water working incredibly well, I experienced absolutely no inconvenience. You can watch Netflix, but the location is so ideal for enjoying the atmosphere of Gangneung that you might as well turn it off for a while—so much so that you won't even need to watch it during your 6-night, 7-day stay. I hope this remains a wonderful place for future guests as well. Host, I wish you continued health and happiness every day!

The infrastructure is really great. There's a cafe and convenience store right in front of the accommodation, which was perfect for working while traveling. I could catch the bus to Jung-ang Market right outside as well. I mostly walked around the alley in Chosang-dong where restaurants are clustered and went to Gangmun Beach. I could even walk to Gallery Babs, the hottest spot in Gangneung, so I did an early opening run and didn't have to wait long to eat. I also took walks on a course that connects Heoggyun Heonan-seolheon Park and Gyeongpo Lake. It's in a really great location for people traveling on foot. The interior design matches the photos exactly, it's clean, and it has a nice scent. It would be nice for two people to stay here too. I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Gangneung for a trip on foot 👍

I love Chodang-dong so much that I often visit with my kids, regardless of the season, whenever I have time. This place was incredibly clean and beautiful! Usually, I'm the first to clean up after arriving, as there's always a hair or two to be found, but there was nothing I couldn't do! The host greeted me with a beautiful handwritten note as soon as I got off the elevator, and she was so considerate when I checked out, so I had a wonderful time with my kids. ^^ If our schedules allow, I'll definitely book again! I was a bit careless and left my luggage behind, but you quickly informed me so I could get it back. Thank you so much!

The host was so kind and I was able to stay comfortably. The duplex loft structure was elegantly and tastefully decorated, and the sunset view from the terrace was absolutely stunning. Being on the top floor meant there was no noise from other units, so I could rest peacefully. Reading a book in the loft with the mood lights on was truly healing! There are many great restaurants and cafes nearby, and all convenient facilities are available. If you visit Gangneung, this is definitely a place I'd love to stay at again! 🥰

The space was much larger than in the photos, so I was able to stay comfortably like at home. As soon as I walked in, I wanted to extend my stay for another week, but it was already fully booked, which was unfortunate... I was very satisfied overall. The location is in Chochang-dong, so there are famous restaurants nearby, and if you have a car, you can reach all the hot spots in Gangneung within 10-15 minutes. What I especially liked was that it's not in the middle of the hot spots, so it was quiet in the evening. I'd love to come back again if I have time later.
